Brighton Real Estate Agent lists Art Deco beauty which comes with all the right curves

A revamped icon in Brighton — where “you don’t get Art Deco” — is bringing luxury to a bygone era.

An “Art Deco icon” is on the market in Brighton after a loving renovation.

Taking in all the curves of its 1930s-era build, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom 32 Elm Grove abode features modern fixtures, 3m-high ceilings, a gas fireplace and a pool.

It has been listed with a $2.95m-$3.2m asking price.

Fredman Property Group Brighton owner Joel Fredman said his vendors bought the home in 2013 and only finished the stylish revamp in the past 12-18 months.

“She’s a professional photographer and has a real eye for detail and creativity,” Mr Fredman said.

“She’s taken a bit of a risk with the colour choices to go with something a bit left of field. It’s a calmer palette; you walk in and you feel good and at ease.”

He said the owners had “tried to sustain and add to the era of the property”.

“The curves and arches – (they wanted) to complement the Art Deco era with a contemporary update,” the agent said.

With the help of local boutique builders Loxton Built, Mr Fredman said his vendors had created a one-off “oasis”.

“You don’t find Art Deco in Brighton,” he said.

“The way the house makes people feel it’s a house that people would move anywhere for.”

Set across two storeys, the home includes a main bedroom and ensuite downstairs with double Italian marble vanity, rain shower and brass tapware.

Upstairs, a further two bedrooms, a fully fitted home office and a second bathroom can be found.

And a covered outdoor entertaining area overlooks the heated saltwater swimming pool.

Mr Fredman said a mix of local downsizers and professionals had flagged interest in the home.

The 394sq m property will go to auction at midday on March 5.
