“Fashionistas rejoice” Brighton Luxury Real Estate Agent lists house linked to Bec Judd, Megan Gale, Ricky Ponting has high price hopes

A Brighton house owned by two well-known fashion figures that has hosted influencer Rebecca Judd, supermodel Megan Gale and cricketer Ricky Ponting is set to bowl over potential buyers.

The single-storey mid-century and modernist-inspired masterpiece at 127 South Rd was built by Review chain co-founder Julianne Godby and her husband Martin Godby, who established Chapel St fashion boutique Dakota501 in the 1970s, which the couple now run as an online-based clothing label.

Their four-bedroom abode – featuring an internal courtyard, sunken lounge and kitchen with stainless steel benches and built-in booth seating – is being sold via expressions of interest with a $7m-$7.7m asking price.

Ms Godby said they often rented the Mckimm-built residence out for fashion shoots and media events.

The home once appeared in a Bunnings Christmas catalogue.

Gale did a backyard photo session on-site, while a Myer campaign for Barbie starring Judd and her daughter was filmed inside.

“Ricky Ponting and his business partner held a wine label launch here,” Ms Godby said.

She said the Japanese-style internal courtyard with a maple tree behind floor-to-ceiling glass, which lights up at night, could been seen upon opening the front door.

“It’s very impactful when you walk in, people go ‘woah’,” she said.

Ms Godby said their family wanted the house to have a warm rustic and industrial feel, with the build including recycled bricks, feature off-form concrete walls and a salt chlorinated pool adjacent to a gas barbecue, firepit and curved concrete bench seat.

The couple are downsizing to a Flinders property now their two children have grown up.

“I think this has a perfect floorplan to come in and customise,” Ms Godby said of their Brighton home.

“It could be updated with another storey.”

Fredman Property Group Brighton owner Joel Fredman said the house was “architecturally very unique” and “very stylish”.

He said inquiries about the property have mostly come from local families given the house’s proximity to St Leonard’s College and Haileybury College, but he has also received calls from potential buyers in Sydney and Greece.
