Kath & Kim star Jane Turner lists Elwood home with luxury real estate agency for $7.3m-$8m
It’s a far cry from Fountain Lakes, the fictional suburb one of our favourite foxy morons Kath Day-Knight called home.
The Kath & Kim star and co-creator Jane Turner is looking for a buyer for her very ‘”noice” bayside mansion, Tiuna, listing the home for sale with a price guide of $7.3 million to $8 million.
The sprawling property, on a 1079-square-metre block in sought-after Elwood, boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library/music room, a pool and a cellar for copious amounts of “cardonnay”.
“It’s a stately home that takes your breath away,” listing agent Sam Gamon of Chisholm & Gamon said.
“It’s hidden from the street and retains a sense of exclusivity. You feel a wonderful sense of arrival as you come through the double iron gates.”
Inside, flanking the central hallway is a separate formal dining room and lounge space, both with open fireplaces, a large study and a library.
An award-winning extension, completed in 2002 by renowned architects Jackson Clements Burrows, was designed to connect the original circa-1884 mansion and former stables.
The converted stables now house the informal living and dining zones, kitchen and additional family room with double doors opening to the outdoor entertaining deck, manicured gardens and pool.
Upstairs are five large bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes, and the main with an en suite.
Records show that Turner bought the property in 1997 for $802,500 and if it sells for its quoted price guide, could break the house price record for the bayside suburb.
Mr Gamon said the property was receiving good interest from both local and interstate buyers, and “family buyers looking for their forever home”.
“It’s the perfect family oasis,” he said.
As one of the last remaining Victorian mansions in the suburb, agent in conjunction Joel Fredman described the impressive pad as “one of a kind”.
“You feel like you’re in your own private estate,” Mr Fredman said.
