Shane Crawford lists paddock with Brighton Real Estate Agent

Shane Crawford is selling the Brighton family home he bought 12 years ago as a renovation rescue.

At 44 St Andrews Street, the c1887 Victorian, Ellesmere, carries a $9-$9.9 million guide.

The ex-Hawthorn footballer and 1999 Brownlow medallist, with his partner, Olivia Anderson, paid $3.05m.

At the time, the property was dubbed locally as “the paddock” given the significant front, back and side yards – parts of which have since made way for a tennis court and 20 metre lap pool.

The vendors have relocated to northern New South Wales.

On 1447 square metres, the now fully restored Ellesmere contains four bedrooms and a study.

Outside there is a self-contained guest studio and enclosed cabana with a gym and bathroom.

The property was once owned by the municipality’s long serving councillor and mayor, Thomas Wilson.

Fredman Property Group’s Joel Fredman is marketing 44 St Andrews St.

“This enviable address strikes the perfect balance of modern luxury, historical elegance and a prized Brighton locale,” he said.

Crawford, who turns 47 on Tuesday, was born in the NSW Riverina town of Finley.

Nowadays a media commentator, the sportsman in 2013 completed a 3600 kilometre bike ride from Melbourne to Perth to raise money for breast cancer research.

The trek took 22 days.

Three years earlier, he ran from Brighton to Adelaide – 780km – for the same cause.
